Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

I used to make these a lot when the kids were little. I could make them early in the morning before the day would get too hot with a minimal amount of oven time; just 20 minutes. This recipe will make a big batch, perfect for bbq's and pot lucks.

2 cups cake flour

1 2/3 cups all purpose flour
1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
2 1/2 sticks softened butter
1 1/4 cups light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/4 pounds chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans

Sift flours, baking soda, baking powder into a bowl and set aside.
Using a mixer with a paddle attachment, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy Add eggs. Stir in vanilla. Reduce to low speed and add dry ingredients slowly,
mixing until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips and the pecans When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350. Spray a rimmed baking sheet with baking spray. Spoon the dough onto the baking sheet and press the dough into the pan. Bake for 20 minutes or until the cookies have just begun to brown. Cool and cut into squares.
